Car-light problem?

So my pop' has a car, with halogen-gas-filled lights (you know in the front of the car; whatever)

The problem is that the lights worked for a while, but yesterday one light defected: when you light it up, it is normal, but in 20 seconds or so. it colors pink :|

What do you think is the problem?

Note: I don't want any answers like %26quot;Change the bulb dude!%26quot; or %26quot;Buy another car !@#$%^%26amp;%26quot;; I want to know what could be the cause ;)Car-light problem? Two things for starters - check the fuse. Most dealerships and some mechanics have computer 'readers' that can also list any problems that might be there.

Another thing is that depending on the age of the car, there might be a leak of some sort within the light (I am not an expert on these types of lights, but from their very description of being halogen-gas-filled, it seems a reasonable assumption).

the bulb is ok . slight water in headlight socket , and oil fom hands . these bulbs are great . what happened when replaced , small drop of moisture got into socket, also when replacing ,the bulb please do not let any part of your hand or skin toch the bulb . remove the bulb when it is cold the bulb not the weather . wash with a touch of rubbing alchol or hydrogen peroxide . . this will remove the film from the bulb . very very common mistake , due to difficulty to remove and reinstall. just hold the metal paret . try not to turn lights on for at least one hour . good luck

Add on to Salmon's answer. If you must touch the bulb to install, use a soft cloth instead of your bare hands. The oil from your skin causes the problems.
