97 honda prelude speedometer question?

I want the back light when I turn on my headlights for my speedometer, rpm gauge, ect. To be a different color my question is

can I just change the bulbs or is it the plastec that is orange and the bulb is a regular whit bulb?

I want them to be blue instead of orange. Anyone know how to do this?

I hope this makes sence.97 honda prelude speedometer question?I think the orange is in the speedometer and not the bulb. the gauge cluster has four bulbs (two for the speedometer two for the tachometer) that are clear 3.0w bulbs. I believe the speedometer needle is fiberoptic and part of the speedometer assembly itself.

its not that difficult to take out the gauge cluster and see. ther are just a few screws at the front of the cluster (two above and two lower) then the cluster pulls out. i'd suggest you try and replace a bulb or two and see if it makes a difference. I don't think it will.

hope that helps

Man arent you in luck. I ran across this website for my 95 accord.

www.LEDautomotive.com

They have a gauge cluster kit for the prelude on there, but you can order just the light bulb you need just for the back light. And you can contact them by email and the guy who owns it will help you just get the bulb you need. Great customer service too!
