I just bought a Hitachi 57F59 a 2006 model and Im not sure how to clean the screen. Its a projection tv.?

And should I replace the bulb? It has one hdmi input but occasionally it will change to a weird color like blue or a dark green or something. Then i just have to turn it off and back on and its fine. Its not constant either.I just bought a Hitachi 57F59 a 2006 model and Im not sure how to clean the screen. Its a projection tv.?First the wierd color change may be a processor failure be sure all you connectors are pushed in you could reverse your hdmi cable and see if that helps any, but you could buy a new one for about $15USD average

You could go to the Hatachi website and find out a number to the technical support line for suggestions it could be that there has been a technical issue that they are familiar with already but its best to talk with a live person they may not even talk to you if your not a technician. They may charge you to answer your question online For HD you can also use component(R G B )and composite cables(R W) to get like results in you picture quality

For the bulb replacement if you think the picture looks dull then get a bulb now I put a reputable bulb company url below I've used before they have a fair price and give you OEM partss with instructions they even give you a latex glove to do the job with most bulbs. Most of the time you only need to take your time and keep the plug out so everything discharges for about 30 min. All newer TV's have built in discharge circuit that just takes a short time to be effective. Make sure you are compentent to use a screwdriver and seat the bulb firmly also be gentle. You don't want to break anything. As a rule the average life span is about a couple years its always good to keep a spare but look at spending anywhere from $100 up to $400 for a replacement bulb depending on where you buy it and for what model you have.
