My tv screen is getting dark!?

We have a 60%26quot; Mitsubishi Electric Projection tv that is only one year old. Just a few days ago we noticed it getting really dark compared to being really brilliant! It's probably been getting darker right before our eyes for awhile now but it's pretty apparent now. Does anyone know what it could be? A bulb? There are no colors like red or green showing in the corners like other people describe or lines. Just the brightness is gone and trying to make it brighter by going to the settings doesn't do a thing. The color or brightness does not change. HELP! Also...do video games really ruin these types of tv's?My tv screen is getting dark!?It would be a big help to knowledgeable TV technicians if you added the model number. Research into archives is not possible without the model. The chances are your TV may still be in warranty and a service call is probably needed. The model number and year of manufacture should be printed on the rear of the set.
