Leopard gecko is scared if I move his light?

Questions says it all. I have to change the light bulb every morning and night and whenever I do he pretty much bolts into his favorite hiding place. It is a 6 month old tangerine colored one. I use a 75 watt daylight and 50 watt night one. Any suggestions on how to solve this?Leopard gecko is scared if I move his light?Your leo is nocturnal, and most creatures 500x my size would scare me, too! As for changing the bulbs out, you can stop that. It's very VERY nice to see someone going to that much trouble to make sure their little buddy is happy, it's pretty rare. However, just keep the night light on all the time. I'm sure it's in an area that has light during the day so you can see into his home, but he doesn't need any UVA or UVB, so as long as he has the heat from his night light, he'll be fine. When I raised leos, I wouldn't use any lights at all (they destroy humidity). Instead I would use under-tank-heaters, equal to one-fourth the size of the bottom of the tank. And I got all of my information from Ron Tremper, the undisputed king of leopard geckos. Check out his website, and buy his book (herpetoculture of leopard geckos...it's REALLY worth it!!).

get 2 lamp holders so all you have to is hit the switches not change the bulbs
Leopard gecko is scared if I move his light?
maybe giant scary lights scare him. =P

I'll tell you, if i was in a tank and someone was messing with lights 5x bigger than be above me, id run into my bed.
get 2 light fixtures and a digital timer.. if your from the states check pets mart, or pet co

if ur in canada big al's or pj's pets.

pretty much its a digital timed powerbar that turns on and off the certain plug on a schedule.. its worth the money..

have 2 lights.. so u dont have to change them.. and the timer will do the rest. .. i have 1 for my 130 g turtle tank.. it has 2 heaters that stay on.. 1 filter that stays on and 2 lights that are on a 12/12 cycle.. i dont have to even be home
why does it matter if he runs in his bed? i have two of them and they do the same thing. Especially if its smaller it it is much more likely to be skiddish and scared. Its normal. Once he starts to mature it will most likely become more adaptable and not care as much. But besides that i dont blame the thing lol.
your leopard gecko is scared. maybe because you move too fast. it is normal for leopard geckos to hide when they see you or any much 100 times bigger than them. but in a long run your leo will get used to it and you will see it will not go to his/her hiding place.

also you can buy seperate lamp dome for each light. =)
