How can you pop a balloon using alka-seltzer?

well me and my friend are doing a project in chemistry and we have to pop a balloon and we have to use alka-seltzer or baking soda and vinegar.. but we don't really know what to do.. we could do more than just pop a balloon ex: blow out a candle or make something change colors.. or light a match or turn on a light bulb.. so i don't know??How can you pop a balloon using alka-seltzer?If you want to pop a balloon usking alka-seltzer, you need to first prepare a balloon with a little bit of water in it. Blow it up, and get ready to add the alka-seltzer. You may have to chop up the alka-seltzer to do this, but then add the alka-seltzer to the balloon, quickly blow it up and tie it shut. In a few seconds/minutes, enough gas (CO2) will be generated to increase the pressure inside the balloon, and ....POP! Be careful not to be too close to the balloon when it pops, and use safety glasses.

Put some alka-seltzers in a bottle of water, then put a balloon on top of the bottle. Keep it air-tight. Alka-seltzers resolved in water will release carbon-dioxide, which will blow a balloon and - booom!

Alka-seltzer contains sodium-bicarbonate (another word for baking soda) and citric acid which, when together resolved in water release carbon-dioxide. So instead of alka-seltzers you can use some baking soda and vinegar (which contains acetic acid). It should also works if you use squeezed lemon juice (contains citric acid) instead of vinegar.

Another way is to attach alka-seltzer to a dart and to throw it at a balloon :)
