Chemistry pple help pleaseee?

Describe how matter is related to light (electromagnetic radiation). Think about the sun, an incandescent light bulb, the salts you placed in the flame (changed colors).

thanks guys.Chemistry pple help pleaseee?Einstein proved that energy and matter are related in his famous equation E = m*c^2. This the famous rest mass energy equation. It says that in each kilogram there exist an incredible amount of energy. We humans have only been able to break off only a fraction of that energy because our methods are so inefficient. The most efficient method we have is nuclear fission in which we split the atom with a neutron. ( think of bowling with a neutron). Another method, what the sun uses is called Nuclear Fusion, this is when two hydrogen atoms collide. This is how the sun generates it's energy. As you know, like charges repel but the sun is so massive that the gravitational forces overcome the electrical charges.

In short, Energy cannot be provided without Matter. Nor can Matter be made without Energy. That is the 1st law of thermodynamics. Energy and Matter cannot be created nor destroyed. The Sun requires matter, Incandescent light bulbs require filment. In fact, you are burning the filment I believe to produce the light and with the salt, the flame should grow bigger when you add the salt to it. Maybe blue, right! Blue means the flame is burning hotter! Check your light spectrum in your text book. The blue should be on the more energetic side when you put in this equation E = hv. In fact, h is a constant so the only important factor is the frequency. Just notice where the color blue is verses red and yellow on your light frequency chart in your text book.

and oh yeah the full Einstein energy equation is E = ( (h*v) ^2 + (m^2 )(c ^4) ) ^ (1/2)

Hope this helps!

Yay!
